ABOUT THE PRESENTERS –

Edward A. Krei is a Managing Director with The Baker Group, an investment firm based in Oklahoma City, specializing in investment portfolio services, asset liability management, and strategic planning for community-based financial institutions.  He received a BBA with honors in accounting from the University of Mississippi and was a gold medalist on the CPA examination in Tennessee. 

 

A frequent speaker at banking and investment conferences, Ed has spoken for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, the OCC, OTS, NCUA, FFIEC, Conference of State Bank Supervisors, several Federal Home Loan Banks, and state banking and securities regulatory agencies.  He has served as faculty member of numerous banking schools, including the Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management, the ABA National Commercial Lending Graduate School, and the Graduate Schools of Banking at SMU, Colorado and LSU.  Ed has served as a consultant to central banks in Europe and Russia.

 

Jeffrey F. Caughron has 20 years’ experience in financial markets and securities.  He received a bachelor’s in Economics at the University of Oklahoma and did graduate work in Political Economy at Harvard.  Jeff’s experience includes several years on the treasury desk for an international Wall Street bank and managing a $600 million investment portfolio for a regional financial institution.  He has expertise in broad asset/liability management issues; sits on the editorial board of the Sheshunoff Economic Newsletter; and is frequently quoted in the financial press.  Jeff serves on the faculty of the Midwest School for Community Bankers and the Bank Operations Institute, and has worked as an international consultant to banks in developing countries.  Currently he is an Associate Partner with The Baker Group and serves as a market analyst and strategist.

 

Ryan W. Hayhurst joined The Baker Group in 1991 while studying economics at the University of Oklahoma and is now an Associate Partner and Manager of the Financial Strategies Group.  Ryan supervises the creation and implementation of investment and asset/liability management strategies designed for community banks.  He specializes in analyzing the risk/reward characteristics of individual securities and helping banks build the optimal portfolio mix and is integrally involved in the development of several software systems that assist banks.  Ryan serves on the faculty of several banking schools including the Midwest School for Community Bankers, the Texas Tech Banking School, and the Bank Operations Institute and is an experienced presenter.
