Federal and state regulations mandate that banks retain specific documents for a designated period of time.  Unfortunately, various laws overlap and conflict, causing confusion.  In the past, some institutions retained records permanently “to be on the safe side.”  But that is no longer practical.  All banks must have a systematic records/document retention and destruction policy.  This webcast discusses legal and practical requirements for an effective policy.

HIGHLIGHTS

What records/documents should you keep and for how long?

What are the requirements of an effective records/document retention policy?

How can an effective records/document retention policy help your institution?
